Lyon Township Trustee
I am asking you for your vote to re-elect me as Lyon Township Trustee

I have lived in the area for 45 years. I’m proud of my service to the citizens of Lyon Township and the community as a whole. Some of my Township experiences include but not limited to: Receptionist, Deputy Clerk, Deputy Treasurer for two different Treasurers, Building Assistant, and Cemetery Administrator. Many of us served in dual roles when the Township was in a poor fiscal situation. The Township is now in a solid and sustainable financial state.
Below is a list of just some of the examples of my commitment to the community:
Improving the Township Cemetery
- Taking photos of headstones and documenting it in our BS&A program avoiding the Township paying for the service.
- Entering information in our cemetery program that was missing info or never recorded.
- Created a map of cemetery that shows if plots are occupied, sold or not available.
Other:
- Cleaned up Townline Rd, got a new bench to honor Veterans with Gerrish Township and the Road Commission (it had been neglected)
- Organized “Wreaths across America” for 7 yrs.
- Organize to set flags out to honor Veterans for Memorial weekends, also take flags down
- For 37 years volunteered beside my husband when he was on the Lyon Township. Fire Dept., with BBQ dinners, pancake breakfast, Halloween parties, Christmas parties, parades, and sold raffle tickets to purchase equipment for the fire department.
- Helped organize a women’s auxiliary for the fire department and in doing that we raised money to get new uniforms for the firefighters.
- Volunteered with my husband at Park 27 to put the kids new play equipment together (that was paid by a grant)
- Helped promote neighborhood watch, in our community, organized extra residents to join. Documented residents information, had meetings with Ben Lowe from the Roscommon County Sheriff Office to promote it
- Board member of the Hillcrest Lake Shore Association for 6 years, volunteered many years for our Labor Day picnics.
Things we have accomplished as the Township Board:
- Instituted improved garbage collection service.
- Balanced Budgets each year
- Used ARPA money for Phoenix Park retaining wall.
- Cleaned up park and drive, resurfaced tennis courts
- Concerts in the park
- Put new pickle ball bench’s per a residents’ request
- Used ARPA money to redo the hardwood floor in hall and painted the office.
- Used ARPA money to pave the parking lot at the Township Hall.
I love my community and will be here whenever anyone needs assistance! I respectfully ask for your vote so we can continue moving the Township forward.
