Susie Grier

Lyon Township Treasurer

I am asking for your vote to reelect me as Lyon Township Treasurer.  I moved back to the community in 1996 when my husband and I bought a home here. Since then I have volunteered in many capacities and have served in many leadership roles in Lyon Township.

Below are some examples of my commitment to the community.

  • Served as a Girl Scout/Brownie leader
  • Helped with concerts in the park
  • Volunteered with “Wreaths across America”
  • Helped with the Lyon Township Fire Department’s Halloween parties and pancake breakfasts.
  • Served as Lyon Township Deputy Clerk
  • Served as Lyon Township Clerk

As Treasurer we accomplished:

  • Collecting delinquent taxes on building on leased land in the first year in a half in office and taxes now are currently up to date.
  • Implemented on-line credit card payment system
  • Installed a drop box for residents after hours

Things we have accomplished as the Township Board:

  • Instituted greatly improved garbage collection.
  • Balanced budget each year
  • Used ARPA money for Phoenix Park retainer wall to protect the shoreline.
  • Cleaned up park and drive and resurfaced tennis court
  • Concerts in the park
  • Put new pickle ball benches per a residents’ request
  • Used ARPA money to redo the hardwood floor in hall as well as, painted the office, hall, bathrooms, and kitchen
  • Used ARPA money to-pave the parking lot at the Township Hall.

I love my community and attempt to help all residents with their concerns, if I can’t help I direct them to someone that can.
I respectfully ask for your vote so we can continue moving the Township forward.
